Beautiful Kashmir 

Every year during the winter holidays, we visit a new place. This year I went to Kashmir with my family. Did you know that Kashmir is also known as the heaven on Earth? 

We started our journey from Delhi by flight. Kashmir is a few hours away from Delhi. When we were about to reach, we could see the mountains from the flight. It got me so excited, the view was so amazing. There was snow on the mountains, I couldn’t wait to jump in and enjoy the snow. 

Our stay was for 8 days, but seeing from the flight, I could live in Kashmir forever! As we sat in our car and drove to our hotel. On our way, we saw the beautiful Dal Lake and the mountains. The view was just like we see in the movies. Absolutely breathtaking!  

Every day we discovered a bit of Kashmir. On our first day, we went to Dal lake and went boating. While we were on our boat, which is also called a Shikara, everything was on a boat. Grocery stores, handicrafts, fresh fruits and vegetables everything was being sold on a boat. So we were shopping while floating on the lake. It was a new and unique experience.  

For the next few days, we explored many areas in Kashmir like Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Kashmir was such a beauty, loved every place in it. 

While we were exploring, we saw some spots where different movies were shot, like Bajrangi Bhaijaan. We saw the character Shahida’s house and the check post that is shown at the end of the movie. It was nice to see it in real life, the spot was as beautiful as it was shown in the movie. 

We also went snow skiing in Gulmohar. At first, I was really scared and unsure if I wanted to do it, but then I saw people having fun around me. I wanted to experience it. It was a thrilling experience.

I enjoyed every bit of Kashmir, so lovely. I would love to visit again. Hope you enjoyed reading my blog.
