Taj Mahal

For a very long time, I have wanted to visit the world’s most iconic place, the Taj Mahal. My parents and I went there from Delhi by car. We planned to stay in Agra for a few days. The journey from Delhi to the Taj Mahal is approximately three hours.

Three hours later, my parents and I reached the Taj Mahal. As we were standing there, we couldn’t believe its beauty. It was absolutely white and gorgeous. Now I understand why it is rightly known as the epitome of Mughal architecture.

As we were looking around, my parents told me about the history of the Taj Mahal. There was an emperor Shahjahan who had built the Taj Mahal in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is built of white marble, its interior and exterior are decorated with artistic designs. It stands on the banks of the river Yamuna.

At night, the Taj Mahal looked marvellous in full moonlight. It is rightly said that the monument is exquisite. It is amongst the Seven Wonders of the World and is the most beautiful place that I have ever visited. I would love to go there as many times as I can.

I really enjoyed seeing the Taj Mahal with my parents and learnt a lot about its history. Hope you liked reading my blog about the Taj Mahal.
