A Visit to Italy

Have you ever celebrated your birthday in a foreign country? Ira shares about her vacation to Italy and the many fun experiences she had. Happy reading!

Hi everyone!

This blog is about my experience of a week in Italy.

My father had to travel to Italy for a week for his official work, so my mother and I also decided to join him. I was excited because my birthday was also during that week.

We landed in Venice and spent two days exploring the beautiful city of canals. We visited the Doge palace, Saint Mark’s Basilica, and the Murano glass museum on our first day.

On our second day, my mother and I went shopping, enjoyed a gondola ride and walked across the lovely Rialto bridge. I ate spaghetti for the first time in my life. It was delicious.

The next day was my birthday and we went to a water park. It was the most fun birthday I had ever experienced. The water park had huge water slides and amazing water games. My parents gave me an Italian birthday card as well.

While my father completed his work obligations, my mother and I travelled to Rome and the Vatican city on our own.We spent two days seeing many Roman historical sights like the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon and more. We had to walk a lot. It took us 4 hours to go through the Vatican city. We ate lots of Gelato to keep ourselves cool and sat on the long Spanish steps. Towards the end of our sightseeing, I made a wish by tossing a coin in the famous Trevi fountain.

We went to Verona and Lake Garda over the weekend.Verona is a beautiful and tranquil city where you can find an amazing palace surrounded by a river and a smaller Colosseum where you can experience an opera during summer. It is also the place of the renowned Romeo and Juliet. You can visit Juliet’s house as a part of your sightseeing plans.

Lake Garda, Italy

On our last day in Italy, we visited Lake Garda. It is a massive lake and requires a few days to see all the lovely ports. But, since we had only a few hours there, we only went to Jamaica beach.

I had a great time in Italy. Hope you enjoyed my blog. Ciao!
