This is a travel blog about my experience in Dubai with my family.
We began our journey on 24th December, 2019 so that we would welcome the new year in the beautiful city.
First, we travelled to the airport in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. It took us one hour to reach the airport. After arriving at the airport, we checked our luggage, verified our passports and boarding passes and settled in to wait for our flight. We were travelling via the Air India Express and I was extremely excited when I got the window seat in the flight.
We reached Dubai at midnight. Through my window, I could see the sparkling Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Frame in the distant skyline.
We were staying with a family friend who also came to pick us up at the airport. Since it was late at night when we arrived at their home, we quickly freshened up and went to bed.
The next day, we were ready to begin our sightseeing. We began from the Burj Khalifa as I was extremely eager to witness this architectural marvel. Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world with 120 floors.
Next, we went to the Burj Al Arab. It is a luxury hotel located near the shoreline of Dubai.
Then, we went to the Global Village. It is a colourful and well decorated place. The Global Village is a combination of the cultures of 90 countries from across the world. It is the world’s largest tourism, shopping and entertainment project.
After that, we were ready for an adventure. So, we went on a desert safari. I rode a camel and felt excited as it trotted through the vast sands of the desert.
On the midnight of 31st December, 2019, we went to the Burj Khalifa. It had a beautiful show welcoming the new year. At exactly 12 am, the entire building flashed with the words “Happy New Year 2020.” It was a surreal experience.
We also visited the Dubai Frame on our trip. This is a rectangular frame that shows the whole city of Dubai like it is captured in a photograph. I was amazed at the view.
While sightseeing was an important part of our Dubai experience, we also spent time shopping. I bought a toy car and a stage mic for myself. My parents also bought souvenir statues of the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab.
Overall, it was one of the best trips I’ve had.
I hope you liked reading my blog and plan on visiting Dubai soon.
