The first day of school is a big deal for most children.

Leela is no exception. She is very much looking forward to the start of the new school year but the rain pours and pours where she lives. Her mother buys her a beautiful new blue umbrella with fluffy white clouds on it. Leela’s classmates love her new umbrella!

But then at lunch, it goes missing. Nobody has taken it. No one sees or hears anything except for a gentle whoosh. Where does the umbrella go?

This fun-filled story, complete with beautiful water colour illustrations, brings alive an adventure in small-town India. It helps us glimpse the bustle of the school classroom at lunch time, the warmth of friends, and the interesting after-school life of a dedicated Indian school teacher.
